Will a new office be built in the centre of Cracow?

Skanska has planned a building of a new office near to Rondo Mogilskie in Cracow. The company bought in a public auction a building plot with an investment destination.

A planned structure is a 8 metres high office with three underground tiers, based on green technologic solutions and meeting investor needs to modern office spaces in this part of the city. Jointly, the building will provide ca. 2 thousand of work places. In all Skanska investments we are trying to minimize an environmental impact. The project received precertification in the international LEED system on the gold level, which means that it is an investment meeting very restrictive standards, often exceeding norms resulted from regulations – comments Mariusz Krzak, Regional Director of Skanska Property Poland.

The building is supposed to arise at Przy Rondzie Street and Powstanie Warszawskie Avenue, thus occupying a parking place at Chopin hotel. Even though the investment has not received a building permit yet, it causes anxiety among inhabitants of Grzegórzek. Cracovian are afraid of decrease in number of available parking places, corking of surrounding streets and intruding a circulation area which leads to neighbours located in the area.

Our general rule in contacts with societies is dialogue, that is why we started negotiations and in past months we were meeting with inhabitants. Therefore, we believe that solutions, which take needs and interests of all sides into consideration, may be elaborated. For instance, after taking inhabitants’ needs into account, the pavement passage across our plot will be also possible after commissioning our project – says Mariusz Krzak.
