Still not optimistic salaries

The average salary in enterprises increased by 8,5 zlotys gross in a monthly presentation and it totaled 3900,40 zlotys gross (2783 zlotys net).

In annual terms, the average salary in enterprises increased by 3,4 per cent in September and the average employment, in turn, increased by 0,8 per cent in comparison with analogical period last year. According to Central Statistical Office of Poland, the average salary generally increased by 3,4 per cent gross in such companies in September after the increase by 3,5 per cent in August. The average consideration was higher by 0,2 per cent in September in comparison with August.

Not satisfactory data is bad news for currently workers who cannot count on increases in remuneration. So far, the real deflation has been depreciating inconveniences related to it. However, the increase in investments and consumption has not been observed even with such record low interest rates. Moreover, PMI indexes (49 for Poland in August) indicate that enterprises expect further deterioration in economic situation. It is confirmed by decreasing industrial production (ca. -8,5 per cent of mdm in August). The foresights of entrepreneurs will become facts if any decisive step is undertaken by the government in a present law and economic order – says Łukasz Piechowiak, the main economist in Bankier.pl.
