Unemployment as a thing of the past

The results of the newest research conducted by „Labor Market Monitor” are optimistic – most people who were looking for a job in the first quarter managed to find it.

According to statistics, the unemployment in Poland is systematically falling and there are more and more possibilities of work. The number of people who were looking for a job in the last few months dropped to 9 per cent in comparison to 17 per cent which were maintaining last year.

Over 20 per cent of respondents changed their workplaces in the last quarter. The reason for a change for 45 per cent of them was a willingness to improve their occupation standing and also better earnings. Moreover, 72 per cent of respondents admitted that they would be able to find a better employment in the period which not exceeds six months. At present, the mobility index for Poland amounts to 108 points and it is the highest one in the European Union. The Poles are open to change their workplaces. They accept the fact that maybe they will have to search them somewhere else or they will have to leave – comments Agnieszka Bulik from the temporary labor agency and personnel consultancy, Randstad.

Unfortunately, some people (36 per cent) in Poland are still afraid of dismissal, among which are mostly young people and those who are older than 55. The anxiety is also noticeable in 30 per cent of employees in the age of 35-44 years – points out the expert.
