Works at general renovation and development of a passenger terminal A are going to start in Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice. The investment will last till the end of May in the following year.

The organization of departures to the non-Schengen countries will be changed during construction works. A checked baggage will be serviced in terminal A, as it was practiced before. The safety and document control as well as expectation time for boarding will be transferred to terminal B. The departure lounge located in the building will be temporally servicing flights to the countries from the Schengen and non-Schengen zone.

The departure lounge in terminal A will be extended within the investment by e.g. area of arrival lounge transferred to a new terminal C, which was launched in June this year. The departure lounge will be also extended by the area on the first floor of the building where a restaurant and so called „small” observation deck are located.

After realization of works, the area of departure lounge located in terminal A will be quadrupled. There will be new commercial and gastronomic points, duty-free shops and a restaurant on the first floor. In result of development in the departure lounge, the location of safety control will be transferred and there will be more stands there.

Skanska is responsible for realization of the investment.
