What is the point in building if you can print!

A small office printed by a 3D printer will be realized in Dubai.

A 1-floor construction printed thanks to a 3D technology will have 185 sq. m of area and it will be realized in Dubai. Moreover, it will be made from steel fiber reinforced concrete, plaster reinforced with fiberglass and synthetics. Not only walls but also equipment, including furniture and construction elements, will be printed layer-by-layer with the use of a 6-meter device.

Mohamed Al Gergawi – one of the ministers of the United Arabs Emirates informed about plans related to the building of an untypical office. A partner of Dubai in realization of the structure will be a Chinese Winsun company which is specialized in realization of constructions with the use of a 3D printer. The applied technology should shorten the construction time by 50-70 per cent and limit some costs related to the work of construction workers by even 80 per cent.

3D print technology is not a novelty in the construction industry any more. It is applied by e.g. Skanska which used the 3D print at the building of the 16-floor The 6Bevis Marks office in the center of London for the first time in 2013. The company printed strut's covers for the roof in this technology which definitely shortened the time of realization of roof construction.
