PKP partnership and City of Poznań presented a new development project of the area after the former building of Poznań railway station and nearby Plac Dworcowy.

City of Poznań and PKP partnership devised a common development conception of the railway station and Plac Dworcowy. In comparison to the old structure, the new project envisages double increase in space dedicated to service of travelers as well as communication hubs. Moreover, it envisages creation of i.a. a new connection by overpass with Głogowska Street. Furthermore, two architectural projects concerning reconstruction of the front elevations of the former railway station were suggested. This project will be a subject of social consultations which are to be held till the end of October this year.

Prepared conceptions for the area of the former building of Poznań Główny railway station envisage giving it new functions. At the same time – as it was announced by representatives of PKP SA – we are planning to restore the elements of service travelers. We were also concentrated on the revitalized area to sign into a civic fabric and meet expectations of inhabitants. I am very glad that they will be also making decisions about the future investment – says Jarosław Bator, Member of the Board, PKP SA.

I am pleased to introduce you the effect of our work and concrete proposals for guests and inhabitants of Poznań. I am really grateful for the engagement of the Board of PKP SA in this project and devising of our common conception. I am convinced that the presented solutions do not differ from the highest standards. We will be happy to restore passenger functions in that place – adds Jacek Jaśkowiak, President of Poznań.

Moreover, office structures and hotel with a commercial and service function are going to be realized within the planned investment. The development of the former Poznań Główny railway station is the last stage of the developer project which was started in 2011. The planned completion of the investment with the value of 96 million euro is planned on 2019. The investor is a daughter company of PKP – Xcity and TriGranit.
