Due to change of the owner, the office building Metropolitan has been certified once again. The office was awarded BREEAM at the Very Good level.

The Warsaw office building Metropolitan has been certified once again. The office was awarded BREEAM at the Very Good level. The certification process was conducted by consulting company Colliers International, which also manages the building. Metropolitan was awarded this certificate earlier but due to change of the owner it was necessary to renew the certification. Thus the certifying units care about maintenance of pro-ecological procedures and standards of certified structures. Taking the necessity of certification in the newest version of the system (BREEAM In-Use International) into account, Metropolitan was judged even more strictly than in the previous year. Better results are the effect of implemented changes within the last year as well as investment of the new owner – says Andrzej Gutowski, Senior Expert for Certification, Colliers International.

The office was equipped with innovative energy-saving and ecological solutions such as heating and cooling of garage premises with air from office rooms.

After taking over of managing functions of the structure, we have conducted a cost analysis. We cared about enhancement of effectiveness of the office and optimization of costs. We implemented many solutions during the certification process, which allow to save the consumed energy and natural resources. Moreover, we significantly decreased operational costs of the structure – says Łukasz Orzechowski, Manager of Metropolitan, Colliers International.

Metropolitan is situated at Piłsudskiego Square 3 in close proximity to the National Theater and Plac Zamkowy. It was built in 2003 in accordance with the project devised by Norman Foster. The structure offers 38 000 sq. m of leased area. Furthermore, there is a headquarters of Colliers International Poland situated in the building.
