A German investor buys Maraton

Maraton - Poznań
The fund managed by Union Investment bought the newest investment of Skanska in Poznań. The German investor's portfolio will be extended by the Maraton office.

Maraton is the second office investment of Skanska in Poznań. The building was entirely commissioned at the end of December 2016. The group of tenants includes such companies as Naspers with OLX Group, ROCKWOOL GBSC, Sii, APS, Bridgestone EBS, Century Link, Duni European Finance Function, or REHAU Business Services. Skanska sold Maraton to the fund managed by Union Investment with a headquarters in Hamburg. The German investor chose a project of Skanska in a regional city for the second time. Dominikański in Wrocław was the first building in the portfolio of Union Investment.

Our strategy in Poland envisages broad diversification of our real estate portfolio. Poznań is our tenth location for investments in the country. The office market in Poznań has perfect prospects for growth and thus we are very pleased with the purchase of a property of such high quality located in the city center – says Martin Schellein, Head of Investment Management Europe, Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.

After the canvassing, Union Investment owns 16 properties in Poland in the office sector as well as in the commercial and hotel sectors of the total value amounting to ca. 1.6 billion euro.

Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, which has a headquarters in Hamburg, was supported by Colliers International during the selling process, whereas Skanska Property Poland was represented by Knight Frank. Hogan Lovells legal office serviced the transaction legally on the side of the buyer, whereas Dentons legal company represented the seller.
