Metropolitan is located on Piłsudzki Square in Warsaw. Since its completion in 2001 the building has received many awards, including the award for the Best Office Building during MIPIM in Cannes, or RIBA Worldwide Award. The investor, the Aberdeen Immobilien Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH decided to give the BREEAM certificate to Metropolitan. The company Cushman&Wakefield, the building's manager, assisted the owner during the certification process, which ended as the "Very Good".
"Ten years ago just after the completion, Metropolitan could speak proudly of its innovative environmental solutions. After the implementation of necessary changes to meet requirements, the facility joined the group of green buildings," says Aneta Rogowicz-Gała, the Director of Real Estate Management at Cushman & Wakefield.
The office building offers the lease space of 38 000 sq m. The project was designed by Sir Norman Foster who created a very distinctive elevation – the glazed wall with granite stones attached perpendicularly to the surface. The patio's floors are made of flamed granite and also there the computer-operated fountain diffuser is located. Thanks to the implementation of innovative, eco-friendly and energy-saving solutions, the facility was able to obtain the British certification.
The building comprises three independent parts with separate communication systems. Commercial services will be located on the ground floor and their customers will be able to use a two-storey underground car park.
