"The History of Unii Lubelskiej Square, from the past to presence..." – it is the title of an exhibition opened around the construction site of Plac Unii, an office and commercial complex in Warszawa.

The fence around the construction site features an exhibition showing all the metamorphoses of the place. The creators of the exhibition aim at presenting both: the rich history of the square and state of the art building designed by Liebrecht & wooD and BBI Development NFI which will occupy the space.

Unii Lubelskiej square is a unique place with rich history and tradition. It is located at the border of Śródmieście and Mokotów and always is full of life. We want to show the history of the square and our new project which in 2013 will transform this region of Warszawa – says Marc Lebbe, Managing Director at Liebrecht & wooD.

"The History of Unii Lubelskiej Square, from the past to presence..." features historical photographs as well as spatial and architectural plans. The historical part of the exhibition occupies the central part of the fence at Boya-Żeleńskiego Street. Office part is located at Waryńskiego Street, and commercial aspect of the project can be viewed at Puławska Street.

The exhibition features also early 20th century photographs of skyscrapers from Chicago and New York which inspired the creators of the office and commercial complex. Architectural design of Plac Unii, created at Stefan Kuryłowicz's renowned studio in 2007, won a prestigious competition organized in cooperation with Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich (Union of Polish Architects).

Plac Unii will be a complex of three buildings joined with each other by a glass roof thirty meters above ground. The dominant of a 90 meters high skyscraper emerge from between two six-storey office buildings at Boya-Żeleńskiego and Puławska Street.

Office space in the complex occupies 41 000 square meters. Besides, the complex will house Galeria Miejska which will occupy 15 500 square meters on three storeys, -1, 0, +1. It will hold, among other things, restaurants, cafés, dry-cleaner's, banks and Supersam delicatessen.

Construction works at Plac Unii are carried out as planned. Currently works underground are being conducted. Works overground and on higher storeys will start in the second quarter of 2012. Completion of the construction works is scheduled for the third quarter of 2013.

Plac Unii project is invested by property developer Liebrecht & wooD and BBI Development NFI fund.

Dobrze, że inwestorzy nie tylko patrzą w przyszłość, ale też pamiętają o przeszłości. Warto sobie o niej przypominać :)
