On March 19, over 40 sustainable design leaders gathered during the quarterly WorldGBC Europe Regional Network Meeting in London, UK.

The group represented 15 European Green Building Councils (Poland, Romania, France, UK, Spain, Croatia, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia), 4 other global Green Building Councils (USA, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand) as well as four Europe Regional Network Partners (Skanska, Knauf, Philips and UTC).

This highly qualified group discussed the current condition of global sustainability market, and particular position of European countries. Among other topics it focused on the opportunities and challenges present on the European market, capacity building opportunities, policy targets as well as green building education. These topics were determined to be the most important ones for this region.

As part of this effort in Poland, PLGBC is launching new member activity: PLGBC Policy Committee – says Agnes Vorbrodt, PLGBC Founder and CEO. – PLGBC has been active in the WGBC ERN Policy Task Force and WGBC ERN Education Task Force since their establishment in 2010. Now it’s time to launch these in Poland. PLGBC is very lucky to have such active Member Companies – Policy Task Force took off very actively from the day it was established, with a goal to follow national and European legislation, participate in international work on green building standards and legislation as well as to positively influence the marketplace and lead the market transformation towards green economy.

The WGBC ERN meetings take place 4 times a year. The previous meeting, took place in Krakow in November during the PLGBC Annual Green Building Symposium.

Now the entire regional network is getting ready for the World Green Building Council annual congress which will this year take place in Stuttgart Germany, alongside the Consense conference.
