An open lecture with Nathalie de Vries, an architect and co-founder of MVDRV architectural studio, will be held on 26th March in Warsaw.

All people present on the meeting will have an occasion to participate in a stirring lecture and familiarize with innovative projects of Dutch studio which is known from ideas inspired by modernism and signing into a current of modern urban planning and architecture of cities.

 

The meeting will take place in Warsaw Wola Center building, which is designed by Kuryłowicz & Associates studio. First and foremost, the speech is dedicated to young and brave architects who are looking for some inspirations and also to all artists who are engaged in creative work – graphic designers, illustrators and designers. The entrance to the lecture is free and open for all willing to participate.  

 

The lecture will be held within a cycle of annual meetings organized on the anniversary of the birth of Prof. Stefan Kuryłowicz, an architect and urban planner from Poland who died tragically in 2011. The patron of the foundation is considered as one of the most powerful authors in the history of Polish architecture, whose work is really close to inhabitants of Warsaw. The investments realized in accordance with the project were indelibly signed into urban planning character of the post-socialist capital. Stefan Kuryłowicz was an author of i.a. PLL LOT office, Dworzec Gdański metro station in Warsaw and Hilton hotel in Gdańsk.

 

The Stefan Kuryłowicz foundation has been actively supporting the development of young architects by organization of competitions and scholarships. Its mission is to promote brave and responsible designers who create their works in accordance with social and culture-making role of this occupation.
