The capital of the Podlaskie Voivodship counts on new investments and more working places due to the activity of the sub-zone Białystok – Suwałki Special Economic Zone. It may already boost about new successes. The new investor from Holland – producer of household equipment – is to invest several dozen million zlotys. Moreover, a new contract concerning sales of area in the Białystok sub-zone was concluded in the half of the last month. The purchaser was Bravilor Poland, which is a daughter company of the Dutch enterprise Bravilor Bonamat, which purchased a plot for 6 million zlotys. The investor is going to build a factory on that area, which will produce coffee makers and their subassemblies. The company would like to invest 47 million zlotys in the period of 3 years and hire at least 30 people. We have also gained an investor from the USA, who builds big areas in our country. These are several thousand meters of open space and office areas. Thus we count on BPO investments, that is Business Process Outsourcing – Tadeusz Truskolaski, President of Białystok, says during the talk with the news organization Newseria. We do not have many such investors and thus we leave this question open. At present, we have around 300 working places in BPO at twenty-plus thousands, for instance in Cracow. We are concentrated on the IT industry as well as accounting and calculative services – Truskolaski adds.

Białystok is a city which has a chance for development in the area of modern services for business. According to the last year's report prepared by Colliers International and Adecco titled "Northern Poland – Development potential of services for business", there are 11 universities in the city and the number of graduates amounts to 12 thousands. However, there is a noticeable lack of space which could meet requirements of international corporations. The market is dominated by buildings with the lease area amounting to 4000 sq. m, which are owned by local developers. A small number of buildings results in the fact that most of the offered office premises are small and medium modules – from 50 to 200 sq. m of cabinet type. However, it is slowly changing. The example is modern office Świętojańska Office Building, which is located at one of the main communicational arteries of Białystok – Branieckiego Avenue. The building with the total space of around 8000 sq. m was mainly designed for tenants from the sector of modern business services. The size of particular floors provides tenants with a wide range of possibilities concerning arrangement of their offices depending on the industry and specifics of activity. The building also enables expansion within one complex.
