The bridge was excluded from the traffic after the fire on the technical landing in the half of February this year. Its renovation started in April this year and it consisted in demounting of the old construction. Then, a new construction of the crossing was put, which lasted two months. The scope of conducted works also included strengthening of supports, montage of a belt separating the road and performance of drainage. Moreover, a two-tier road surface was overlain in the last weeks. On the bridge – similarly to the condition before the renovation – three lanes will be present on each road. The consortium of Porr Poland Infrastructure and Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Technicznych INTERCOR Sp. z o.o. is responsible for conducting of works connected with the investment.

According to earlier assumptions, the reparation works are supposed to be ended on 30th September in the following year, e.g. works at protection of steel and concrete construction against corrosion, repair of concrete elements and montage of pipelines. In 2016, the realization of an underslung overpass for bicyclists will start. It is going to connect the bicycle path on the left bank of the Vistula river with the road along Wał Miedzeszyński.
