The contractor of Międzynarodowe Centrum Kongresowe has been found

The municipality of Katowice concluded an agreement for constructing the new complex. Polimex-Mostostal will be the contractor.

The official conclusion of the construction agreement of Międzynatodowe Centrum Kongresowe in Katowice has been celebrated on October 3rd. The municipality has chosen Polimex-Mostostal from Warsaw as the general contractor.

The project created by JEMS Architekci from Warsaw received the planning permission in the past January. In February the municipality has put the construction works out to tender. Twelve companies applied, international companies among them. The most attractive offer came from Warsaw. The realization of the investment will cost 304,5 million PLN.  A part of the funds will be granted by the European Regional Development Fund.

The contractor’s duty will be to build the over 37 000 sq. m centre, restructure or build a new underground infrastructure, build access roads, car parks and a tunnel joining MCK with Spodek. The company will also be obliged to plan the development of the building’s surroundings and roof. All the activities shall end in the first half of 2013.
