The agreement puts an end to IPN's 12 year-long headquarter problem.
Warsaw. This morning, in Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu's office an agreement on transfer new headquarters for Instytut Pamięci Narodowej has been signed.

The building, occupied till now by Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu, shall become the new headquarters of Instytut Pamięci Narodowej, who's been forced to leave it's currently occupied office building, sold by RUCH to a private owner. The institute will spend several millions on the move. In it's new office IPN will occupy 6 500 m2 of office area, the institute's archives won't fit in there though.

The agreement, signed today by Mikołaj Budzanowski - Minister of the Treasury, Łukasz Kamiński - President of IPN, as well as Wojciech Dąbrowski - President of ARP Ltd. and Piotr Majchrzak - ARP Ltd.'s Vice President, guarantees that by 30th september 2013 IPN shall recieve full administration of the property.

- It is a good day for everyone involved in the search for Instytut Pamięci Narodowej's new headquarters. Finally, after 12 years, we have solved this problem and reached a happyconlusion. Just as we promised 2 months ago, IPN was not left alone. Today's solution is optimal from this institution's point of view - says Mikołąj Budzianowski, Minister of the Treasure.

IPN's president also did not hide his satisfaction from the signed agreement.

- For 12 years, the institute has been waiting for a solution of it's headquarter problem. It is doubtlessly a turning point, although we still need to perform the necessary adaptations in the building and then move our archives from Towarowa St. to new warehouses. The transaction has been unique and complicated, but we managed to prepare it over the course of a few weeks - says IPN President Łukasz Kamiński.

In january, Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu Ltd. is moving to a new office in Centrum Bankowo-Finansowe on Nowy Świat St., freeing up the previously occupied office building on Warsaw's Mokotów for IPN. In turn, the institutes' move shall take place in spring next year. IPN's archives are to be moved in the future to adapted warehouses on Kłobucka St.
