On the occasion of Earth Summit, which will take place from June 20 to 22, 2012 in Rio de Janerio, PL GBCD organizes the thematic conferences associated with this big event.

The aim of the summit is to answer the questions on: How do the economy in prospect of sustainable development and the situation of creating institutional frames for sustainable construction look like.

During our conference, we will also try to show you how is the situation in Poland, what can we expect from World GBC’s side, which are the trends and perspectives of the development. However, there is still a long way to go, but the awareness of society is raising and consequently social, governmental and local institutions cannot be indifferent any longer.

Rio + 20 is a new step in creating global community, real dialogue between nations and citizens, intensification of the awareness of common destiny and also an attempt to create global managing. Rio + 20 summit can lead perfectly to multinational ethnic and political vision that will be able to change the architecture of global managing.

Road to Rio + 20 conference is the only chance in Poland to listen about the crucial role of the buildings in new, pro-ecologic economy straight from the mouth of Jane Henley, the chief of World Green Building Council – says Agnes Vorbrodt, the founder, CEO and VP of PLGBC – The buildings use nearly 40% of energy and are responsible for 1/3 of world greenhouse gas emission, so we believe that the intelligent investment in construction will help in our efforts to prevent climate changes and make society realize how big are the potential savings.
