Today is UN Day. On this occasion, Warsaw Trade Tower hosts the representatives of ONZ Family in Poland, administration and business on the conference: “Healthy planet, healthy people.”

United Nations Charter came into force on 24 October 1945. Thereby, United Nations Day has been celebrated all over the world since 1948. This year’s slogan of UN Day in Poland is: “Healthy planet, healthy people,” which is coherent with the global message of United Nations Environment Program – Healthy planet, healthy people. The organizers would like to emphasize how important is the relation between the environment, health and life quality by referring to Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

We should develop a proactive approach to environmental problems, take up initiatives aimed at protection of natural resources, support development of green approaches and technologies. As a non-governmental organization with 26 years of experience in implementation of environmental projects, we would like to be an active partner who have the competence to point out the current problems and the needs of the environment as well as to suggest concrete solutions whose joint implementation could serve to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and growth of organizations and institutions in Partnership with UN Environment – says Maria Andrzejewska, Director of UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Center.

On the occasion of today’s United Nations Day, Warsaw Trade Tower hosts the representatives of ONZ Family in Poland, administration and business gathered on the conference: “Healthy planet, healthy people.” The organizers of this event are: ONZ Family in Poland and Responsible Business Forum.

The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) assumed by ONZ would not be possible without the commitment of business as well as sectorial and cross-sectorial partnerships. Hence the idea of participation of Responsible Business Forum in the organization of UN Day in Poland and invitation to the cooperation directed at the partners, that is business organizations. We would like the practice of including SDGs in business strategies to become a standard in Polish socially responsible companies. Therefore, such meetings are really priceless. This is a chance for gaining knowledge and inspiration as well as establishing direct contacts which can result in new partnerships in the future – says Marzena Strzelczak, General Director and Member of the Board at Responsible Business Forum.

UN Day is an unrivalled opportunity to know the actions of ONZ Agendas in Poland as well as ONZ organizations. An important element of this meeting will be a debate of the representatives of companies engaged in the “Together for Environment” Partnership, devoted to influence of business on the environment. A detailed schedule of this meeting is available here: www.gridw.pl/unday2017.
