TNT Express invests in Poland

One of the largest courier service companies in the world opened a Shared Service Centre in Warsaw, with the plan to employ 400 people.

The new Shared Service Centre of TNT Express functions in the company’s headquarters in Poland, on Annopol 19 Street in Warsaw.

 

As TNT Express develops, the decision was taken to locate the Shared Service Centre in Poland, said Piotr Buczkowski, the General Manager of TNT Express Poland. Creating a strategically important business unit in our country is a sign of appreciation for the quality and effectiveness of the processes already implemented by the Polish team, he added.

 

According to the company, the Shared Service Centre was created with the aim of reducing costs and increasing the quality of service by standarising the processes. The tasks of the Warsaw Centre include: accounting, reporting and financial administration of several European branches of TNT.

 

Shared Service Centre of TNT in Warsaw entails creating over 400 jobs before then end of 2015. Currently, 100 employees of the Centre support financial processes of the company’s branches in Poland and Italy. According to the assumptions, the Polish centre will also provide the book-keeping service for the branches in Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

 

TNT Express, one of the largest courier service companies in the world, operates in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Pacific and in both Americas. In 2012, the revenue of the company amounted to 7.3 billion euro.

 

The investment confirms that Poland is attractive to companies from the BPO/SSC sector. According to the data from ABSL (Association of Business Service Leaders in Poland), there are over 400 shared service centres in Poland, which employ over 110 000 employees.
