Katowice Special Economic Zone with a distinction

fDi magazine owned by Financial Times Group published a ranking titled fDi Global Free Zones of the Year 2015. According to it, Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) won the first place in Europe and the second place among Special Economic Zones.

fDi magazine owned by Financial Times Group published a ranking titled fDi Global Free Zones of the Year 2015. According to it, Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) won the first place in Europe and the second place among SEZ. Katowice Special Economic Zone was appreciated by e.g. good management, presence of qualified employees and efficiency in attracting new investors. Moreover, the program of a dual traineeship was taken into consideration – that is K2. It enables employers to gain proper personnel and vocational education contributing to expansion on the area of the voivodship. Such a high position in the ranking resulted from a dynamic development of KSEZ and its extension by additional 280 ha of improved land. It is worth mentioning that KSEZ was considered as the best zone in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, the second best European zone intended for enterprises from the MŚP sector. Moreover, it received the second position in the category of the best zones for big organizations.

 

fDi Global Free Zones of the Year is a factsheet which selects the best economic zones from the whole world. 76 entities participated in this year's edition, e.g. from Arab Emirates, China or USA. The jury nominated winners and vice-leaders among all sent applications in each region. It also chose the best zones in the category of MŚP as well as big enterprises.

 

KSEZ has been functioning since 1996. In the first half of the year, 20 permits with the total declared investment outlays in the amount of 895 million zlotys were issued.
