Chestnut trees returned to Mikołajska Street

Floral motifs characteristic for Art Nouveau have reappeared on the facade of the renovated building in Kraków. Modern office buildings are being constructed in the place of an industrial property.

Floral motifs characteristic for Art Nouveau have reappeared on the facade of the renovated building on Mikołajska Street in Kraków. Inside, modern offices are created in the place of a former industrial space.

The renovation of the building owned by Access started in 2010. The renovation project has been designed by architects from 3D Architekci office. The elevation’s style and colour match the surroundings. At the same time the historic feature of Kraków’s Art Nouveau has been preserved by renovating the leaved and fruits of the chestnut tree, to which alludes also the logo of the new Office Center.

The building had been constructed in 1906 as a seat of Drukarnia Związkowa Stowarzyszenie z nieograniczoną poręką. Today, the sign “Drukarnia Związkowa” above the entrance reminds of the previous function of the property. The historic building on Mikołajska Street is different than the other buildings on the Old Town. As it was an industrial building, the interior is an open-space without and partitions. Thanks to that, the investor, will be able to create spacious and easily adaptable offices.
