What city is the best place to live and work for foreigners?

Singapore, New Zealand and Canada are considered to be the best countries to live and work. According to the report Expat Explorer published by HSBC bank, Poland occupies the 25th place among the best destinations for expats.

According to the survey, Poland occupies the 25th position among the best destinations for expats, that is experts who leave their homelands in order to take up a job in another country. Poland is therefore placed higher than Ireland (27th place) and it is classified lower than Great Britain (22nd place).

 

Singapore occupies the first place in the ranking Expat Explorer published by HSBC bank for the second year in a row due to the best career prospects in finances offered to arriving specialists; they have a chance for maintaining the high quality of life. More than three fifths of expats in Singapore believe that it is a good place to start a career (62 per cent of the respondents). They point out increasing incomes after moving to this country. The average annual income in Singapore amounts to 139 thousand dollars (in comparison to 97 thousand dollars all over the world). According to the report published by HSBC, the great majority of expats believe that Singapore offers a quality of life (66 per cent) and education (75 per cent) at the higher level in comparison to their homelands.

A departure enables much faster realization of financial goals to expats. For instance, work abroad allowed them to quicken a decision about purchasing a flat, and 41 per cent of them could save some money for pension funds. However, Switzerland occupies the first place in the category "finances" for the second year in a row. The respondents treat this country as a place offering welfare and strong economy. Ca. 87 per cent of the expats living in this particular country are convinced about the political stability, whereas four out of five expats are convinced about the economic stability of Switzerland. Poland occupies the 29th place in the category "finances".

 

Considering quality of life, the best country to live is New Zealand. The great majority of the expats (83 per cent) appreciate the natural environment of this country and they consider it as better than their own. Almost three quarters of them notice the enhancement of quality of life as well as easiness in integration with local society. Poland occupies the 26th place in this category in the HSBC ranking.

 

Taking conditions for families of expats into consideration, the first place is occupied by Sweden. Poland, in turn, is on the 21st place. Ca. three quarters of expats in Sweden assess the quality of life better in comparison to their homeland. They believe that this country offers better quality of education, which is also less expensive. Moreover, they believe that the quality of care over children in Sweden is better than in their homeland.
