Voivode of Little Poland and Rector of Cracow University of Economics signed an agreement which initiates activities aimed at establishment of Creativity and Design Center in Cracow.

Creativity and Design Center will be an institution functioning at support of personnel and students of four Cracow public universities: AGH University of Science and Technology, Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Tadeusz Kościuszko University of Technology and Cracow University of Economics which performs a role of a coordinator of initiated activities. The estimated cost of this undertaking will amount to ca. 75 000 000 zlotys. 

 

The activity of the institution is aimed at wide cooperation between four universities and enterprises. The main aims are increase in awareness of entrepreneurs about role and meaning of creativity and design in development of a company; creation of interdisciplinary projects thanks to competences of engaged universities; organization of symposiums, conferences, meetings, exhibitions and workshops promoting design; increase in profits from sales of creative and design industries; creation of workplaces in creative industries and support of occupational activation as well as enhancement of functionality and aesthetics in a public area of the region. 

 

The initiator and originator of the project is Prof. dr hab. Jerzy Hausner, Social Proxy of Rector of Cracow University of Economics for Culture and Sport. The coordinator of this undertaking will be Prof. dr hab. Łukasz Mamica from Department for Economics and Public Administration in Cracow University of Economics. The signatories of the agreement are Jerzy Miller, Voivode of Little Poland and Prof. Andrzej Chochół, Rector of the Cracow University of Economics.
