All things considered, we can assume that the on-going works on regulations regarding special economic zones will be suspended. The ministry wants to cease pushing the novelisation of the zone law, which was intended to support investors during crisis. The reason for this are concerns that the amendments introduced by Minister of Finance might harm firms. The amendments were going to regard tightening regulations concerning control and supervision over companies. Officials of Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland came to conclusion that leaving the current regulations as they are will be much more convenient solution. For this reason firms, which are nearing to completion of permission terms, and which have fulfilled all the o obligations, are going to receive additional time.
In the initial months of 2011 firms that have been operating within special economic zones had higher incomes than in the previous year. “Rzeczpospolita” informs that the overall value of investments declared between January and April was higher by nearly a half a milliard of Polish Zloty than in the previous year. According to MG, at the end of 2010 the value of investment that were already completed in zones exceeded 73 000 000 000 mld PLN and the total number of new work places reached 167 000.
