City Gate complex
City Gate, a complex realized in Bucharest, received another LEED certificate.

City Gate is a complex located in the capital of Romania. The structure was realized by GTC company in 2009. Last year City Gate North Tower received LEED certificate on Gold level and recently – a twin skyscraper, that is City Gate South Tower, has also received LEED certificate but on Silver level. Both certificates were granted in Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance categories.

The implementation of certain solutions which have influence on decrease in water use, increase in energy efficiency, balance in waste management and proximity of public transport decided about the fact of granting the certificate. In the skyscraper were also applied i.a. sprinklers in bathroom taps which reduced water use from 5 l per minute to 1,9 l. Moreover, the policy of smoking ban within not more than 7,6 m from doors and windows as well as air-intakes which may be opened was introduced, thanks to which non-smoking employees of the office will not become passive smokers. On the 18th floor of the structure there is a restaurant – their guests may benefit from a special installed cabin for smokers on a terrace, designed in accordance with LEED requirements.

City Gate complex offers 47 700 sq. m of office and accompanying area. Among its tenants there are such companies as: Rompetrol, Romtelecom, Microsoft, Millennium Bank, Hoffmann-La Roche, Alcatel, Eon or Chevron.
