Time for control is running out

Owners and administrators of buildings are obliged to carry out controls. The deadline of execution for some of them ends on 30th November.

According to the regulations embodied in the Construction Law, the owner, administrator or user of the building are responsible for safety and technical efficiency of the structure. This act imposes on those people an obligation of carrying out series of controls. The deadline of execution for some of them ends on 30th November.

The law forecasts an obligation of carrying out the control with the division on two terms: one year and five years. The situation looks different in case of multi-space buildings such as when built-up area exceeds 2000sqm, as well as buildings whose roof has at least 1000sqm. Analogously to the annual control, the check of technical conditions of storage, halls, shopping centres and offices have to be carried out twice: until 31st May and until 30th November. In those dates checked are: technical conditions of elements exposed to harmful atmospheric impact, utility systems and devices serving preservation of environment as well as gas fittings and chimney flues.

If the owner or administrator don't carry out the control, they will be fined. Controls have to be carried out by people who owns certified builder's licence. Such specialists can be found in Chamber of Polish Architects or in Chamber of Site Engineers.
