Fake e-mails from ZUS

Cheaters swindle entrepreneurs out of money once again. This time, they impersonate Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych.

Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych warns all entrepreneurs against cheaters who impersonate employees of this institution, send e-mails about mistakes in contribution settlements. The cheaters swindle entrepreneurs out of money in such a way.

A lot of entrepreneurs have recently reported information to ZUS about weird e-mails with a suggestion about wrong settlements due to contribution payments and necessity of their immediate refutation. E-mails were supposedly signed by one of the chairmen of ZUS. Meanwhile, e-mails from ZUS are sent only to those entrepreneurs who decided on such contact with an individual guardian from the institution and there is always a signage of the mentioned guardian – says Iwona Kowalska, press secretary of ZUS in Wrocław.

ZUS informs that its employees do not contact with clients in their individual cases by e-mails. Moreover, they certainly do not pass on their information about possible mistakes in settlements due to contribution payments and necessity of their immediate refutation by e-mail.

The employees of this institution do not contact with clients in their individual cases by e-mail. They do not pass on such information about possible mistakes in settlements by e-mail. Therefore, we would like to ask you about a special caution in case of receiving such correspondence. It is advisable not to answer such correspondence in order to avoid problems. Furthermore, in case of any doubts – please contact the Telephone Service Center of ZUS under the number: 22 560 16 00 – as we may read in the announcement.
