According to the project concerning new energetic law by 2020 old watt-hour meters are to be changed for new devices. The profitability of investing in intelligent systems has not been confirmed by any economic analysis – claims “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”. According to a new directive of EU each member country should analyze economic effectiveness of new solutions by September 2012.
The new energetic law is being prepared by the Ministry of Economy. According to the formal statement containing explanation for such decision, the changes will bring 4.8 billion PLN of savings to the consumers. These calculations however are based only on theoretical assumptions.
The first pilot programs which would allow the companies to estimate the rationality of changes are to be introduced by Energa - one of four energy groups working in our country. The company has already announced that all the old watt-hour meters are to be changed for new ones. They have started mounting new devices in December 2011.
