A seminary about e.g. economic potential in Eastern Africa was held on 21st October this year in Warsaw. 50 entrepreneurs interested in expansion on African markets participated in that event. Issues related to e.g. economic situation in the region of Eastern Africa, chances and barriers of conducting a business activity in Ethiopia were presented during that seminar. Moreover, plans about economic mission in this country, which is going to be held in November this year, were introduced. The mission will be aimed at promotion of domestic exporters and investors as well as development of cooperation between Ethiopia and Poland. We are planning meetings with representatives of local business and government administration – said expert in PAIiIZ for African Market Bartłomiej Lewandowski.

It is worth mentioning that the Go Africa program has already been functioning for two years. Its main objective is to support domestic entrepreneurs in expansion on African markets. During the program, the trade exchange between Poland and countries covered with it was definitely increased. The trade exchange with Nigeria, a country which we visited with a business mission, increased by 47 per cent – said chairman of PAIiIZ Sławomir Majman. We are planning a mission to Ethiopia in the nearest future. It will be the first step outside southern and western coast of Africa – added.

Africa is the continent of the 21st. century – said chairman of the Economic Foundation Poland-Africa Robert Zduńczyk. The eastern part of the continent is becoming a great partner for the Polish business thanks to e.g. well-developed infrastructure and young people with willingness to learn – added. Native companies such as Navimor, Ursus, Asseco, Lubawa, Izodom 2000, Kulczyk Investment and Grupa Azoty are currently conducting their business activity on the African market at support of the Go Africa program.
