REIT Poland starts its business activity in Poland. It will support establishment and development of Polish REITs, that is entities which collectively invest in properties that bring a regular income and profits as a dividend.

REIT Poland was founded at the initiative of experts who are related to the real estate market. It will support actions that lead to establishment of regulatory frameworks for entities operating in the REIT formula. Thanks to different forms of education, this association will also promote knowledge revolving around investment in properties through REITs.

The commercial property market in Poland is one of the most attractive markets in Europe. It has been dynamically developing for 25 years, however, the participation of Polish investors was minimal. The actual state of affairs can be changed only by introduction of bottom-up and proven solutions beneficially for both Polish investors and Polish economy. Taking up actions related to introduction of regulations in Poland concerning entities of collective investing in the form of REIT is really crucial in this matter. We are going to support such actions and actively participate in them – says Małgorzata Kosińska, Chairman of REIT Poland.

REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) is an entity of dividend type which invests in existing properties. It operates in the form of a partnership or a fund. A regular payment of dividend results from legal regulations and statute, whereas its main source are stable incomes from lease. The REIT formula is created mainly for individual investors. It allows them to invest in commercial properties such as office buildings and shopping malls, the purchase of which is only possible thanks to collective investing.

Incomes from entities of REIT type are taxed only once (as a tax on dividend paid). A special tax status levels REITs with direct investments in other properties (e.g. purchase of flat or usable premises for lease). Thus, it is a form of encouraging citizens to long-term investment of their savings in existing commercial properties.
