Participants of the running race were representatives of Warsaw companies as well as journalists, sportsmen, actors and football teams with people after amputation. 620 teams composed of five people took part in the relay race. The route of the running race with the length of 3.8 km started and ended at the Theatre Square in Warsaw and it was partially covered with the Royal Route. Jointly, the participants were supposed to run 19 km. The winner of the run was Accenture Team 1 which covered the distance within 1 h 3 min 34 sec. The second place was dominated by CitiFx Runners with the time of 1 h 4 min 24 sec. The last team from the leading group was WHITE STAR RUNNING TEAM with the time of 1 h 6 min 31 sec.
I would like to say thank you to all organizations and participants of the running race – says Agnieszka Pleti, Chairman of Jasiek Mela Beyond Horizons Foundation. – Thanks to you, we totally broke the record this year! We managed to collect over 1 000 000 zlotys on the scale of 6 running cities! It is an amount, thanks to which modern prosthesis will be given to the beneficiaries of the Warsaw edition of the running race – Patryk Marat and charges of our foundation from Cracow, Poznań, Katowice, Łódź and Wrocław. When we were devising this project four years ago, we wanted the history would come full circle and people who benefit from our help could start in the run. Our dream came true this year – people after amputations, including this year's beneficiary Ania Drobna, started in a special and one of its kind Jasiek Mela Team in the running race in Cracow. Next to Ania, there were also Piotr Sajdak, Sławomir Szczupacki (on a special cross-country prosthesis), Kasia Pietrzyk and Wioleta Jednaka. The emotions were unbelievable – adds Agnieszka Pleti.
Warsaw Business Run is a charitable business run which is organized within Polish nationwide initiative – Poland Business Run started in 2012 in Cracow. This event was organized simultaneously in Cracow, Poznań, Katowice, Łódź, Warsaw and Wrocław this year. Jointly, nearly 15 000 participants took part in the event. Thanks to entry fees and „Pomagam Bardziej” action, over 1 000 000 zlotys gross were collect. Thus, at least 9 people will receive modern prosthesis.
