Along with the beginning of 2015, we are going to increase the employment in order to service a new business line. Our team will be extended by 10-15 per cent. Moreover, we are still discussing the issue of developing new functions which already exist with plans of their implementation in 2015. It resulted in the necessity of increasing currently rented office area in Alchemia building by 25 per cent – comments Arkadiusz Rochowczyk, Managing Director in Finnish Kemira company.
The Finnish company functioning in the chemical industry opened a multifunctional business service center in Gdańsk in the first half of 2013. It supports the company’s development in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), servicing advanced processes in the areas of customer service, finances, accounting, IT, shopping and logistics. The partnership mediates almost in the whole sales of Kemira in Europe, a daily value of which totals 3,5 million euro. Nearly 25 per cent of the current team are foreigners from Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Holland, Spain, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia or France.
We are glad that Kemira is successfully developing in Gdańsk. It is another evidence that our region has a great potential in respect of availability of the highly qualified staff, modern office area or good support granted by investors. Furthermore, the location is also important as well as high quality of life which attract more and more people from other regions of the country and even from abroad to Pomerania – says Maciej Brożek, director for commercialization in Torus company which is a developer of Alchemia.
The first stage of Alchemia delivered 16 700 sq. m of office space on the Tri-City market. Its official opening took place in January of the current year. The building of the second stage started in December. It will deliver over 21 000 sq. m of office area and over 2600 sq. m of accompanying (service) area within which a medical center, kindergarten with own green and commercial as well as service part are going to be realized. The finishing of the second stage of Alchemia is planned on the fourth quarter of 2015. Jointly, the investment is planned on 4 stages within which 8 skyscrapers with the total space of over 80 000 sq. m will be built.
Currently, there are over 30 business service centers of foreign entities functioning in Tri-City. They hire jointly over 11,5 thousand people.
