Gherkin in hands of Brazilian billionaire

Joseph Safra, a Brazilian billionaire, bought one of the most recognizable offices in London. The value of this transaction totals 700 million pounds.

Joseph Safra, the owner of Safra Group, has at his disposal ca. 15 billion dollars and he is the owner of bank chains located in both Americas, Europe and on the Middle East. The total value of it is estimated at over 200 billion dollars.

 

Gherkin office designed by Lord Foster was commissioned in 2004. The structure offers nearly 47 000 sq. m of office space. The area is rented by over 20 enterprises, mainly those which are professionally engaged in providing financial and consulting services. These are i.a. Swiss Re, Kirkland & Ellis International LLP and ION Trading. The building has 41 above ground tiers and it is 180 meters high.

 

Savills and Deloitte Real Estate partnerships were responsible for the sales of the office.
