The BARGEWORK Foundation presented chosen structures registered in the first edition of the „BARGEWORK – OFFICE ON THE WATER” architectural competition during the International Construction and Architecture Fair BUDMA 2015 which was held in Poznań. The competition is aimed to create the first office on the water in Poland.
The initiative concerning the building of the first office on the water in Poland aroused a great interest. Therefore, we could not miss the fair trade in Poznań – a perfect place for presentation of innovative ideas and technologies – explains Marcin Wojciechowski, Chairman in BARGEWORK Foundation and originator of the project.
The mission of the Foundation is to regain the possibility of work and free making in an ecological environment which is close to nature. BARGEWORK is planning to realize these assumptions through construction of a floating office.
The Foundation held a contest concerning the project of a solid on the water last year. The participants were supposed to create a design installed on a concrete – floating base in 10x40 m dimension within the first stage of the competition. 135 works were submitted. Moreover, the authors of the winning project received 20 000 zlotys.
The submitted designs were supposed to meet ecological assumptions of the project and demands for a modern and flexible office.
The second stage of this initiative started in January this year. This time, the participants are to devise a design of the interior concerning the office on the water. The main prize totals 20 000 zlotys. The competition works may be submitted till 5th May 2015 by an application form available on the website of BARGEWORK. The competition regulations may be also found there. The results will be announced during a special press conference at the VIth Polish Woodwork Congress, that is on 22th May 2015.
