Experts are needed immediately

The Pomeranian Voivodship is becoming more and more attractive for organizations functioning in the sector of shared services centers (SSC/BPO) and IT. Therefore, the demand for staff of experts having adequate qualifications is still increasing.

According to data of the Central Statistical Office, the unemployment rate reached the level of 11.4 per cent in August this year on the area of the Pomeranian Voivodship. This rate is much lower in the Gdańsk administrative district as well as Gdańsk. It amounts to respectively 8.9 and 5.8 per cent, which indicates a good condition of the labor market. A qualified staff of experts and managers who are able to speak Scandinavian languages and who are educated in the area of finances, HR, logistics or shopping is available in this region. The occurance of new shared services centers on the market and constant expansion of already existing ones contribute to the constant need for employees knowing German, French, Dutch and Hungarian.  

 

Employees in the area of SSC/BPO are needed

 

According to data of EURES, the highest level of concentration concerning business activity is recorded on the area of Tricity Metropolis. A dynamic development is noticeable in the area of banking in the SSC/BPO industry – many entities functioning in this sector opened their centers on the Tricity market. Moreover, other big investments are planned in the nearest future. In result, the biggest demand which is currently recorded by companies concerns experts from the area of banking, especially for posts against „money laundering” (Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering, that is KYC/AML). A potential candidate is required to have adequate experience and very good knowledge of English. The Tricity market is open for relocation candidates. Promising market

 

The economic potential of the Pomeranian Voivodship is based mainly on traditional branches of industry and expansion of such sectors as ICT, logistics, energetics or motorization. The region has a special logistic base, which results from a good geographical location. Furthermore, it is an integral element of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) which has an influence on development and modernization of road infrastructure.



Attractive remuneration and lack of employees with specific IT competences contribute to the fact that more and more candidates from the whole country are coming to the Pomeranian Voivodship. It especially concerns Tricity, which is a young, dynamic and very receptive market. There is a big concentration of industries which are going to conduct the greatest number of recruitment processes. According to data from the last edition of a cyclical research of Antal Global Snapshot, the main objective of which is to assess the scale of employment and dismissal in crucial sectors in the country, nearly 90 per cent of employers from the SSC/BPO sector declared planned recruitment processes. This proportion amounts to 77 per cent in enterprises from the IT sector (software).

 
Further development of the market

 

According to Antal company, the Pomeranian Voivodship is recording a quick and constant development of the labor market. This region is eagerly chosen by foreign investors, mainly from the IT/ITO, SSC/BPO as well as logistic and forwarding trade sectors. Additionally, acting team manager Antal SSC/BPO Kamila Faliszewska emphasizes that candidates who are considering a change of dwelling place due to work, very often point out the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodship as an attractive city in respect of relocation. Relocation candidates show a great interest in offers from Tricity. On the basis of our conducted recruitment processes, we may notice that it has been recently higher in comparison to other cities in Poland.
