Company with a portfolio including buildings awarded BREEAM
Echo Investment is one of the biggest investment and developer companies with Polish capital in Europe. The biggest investment in the portfolio of the company is Q22. The building is situated in the city center of Warsaw and it was awarded BREEAM Interim Excellent with the result of 79.1 per cent. It is one of the highest grades in this category in Poland. It is worth pointing out that only 10 investments in Poland can boost about the obtainment of the BREEAM Excellent certificate.
The factors which were assessed in Q22 are: energetic effectiveness, applied materials, healthy work environment or waste management. Q22 was built in place of the demolished Mercure hotel. The materials obtained during the demolition were recycled and thus 1500 tons of steel and 25 000 tons of concrete aggregate were additionally obtained.
Many ecological solutions were implemented during the construction of Q22, including photovoltaic panels, which charge stations for ecological electric vehicles. Photovoltaics was also applied as the source of heat, which allows self-acting heating and ploughing of modules.
The portfolio of Echo Investment includes much more buildings which were awarded BREEAM: three buildings of A4 Business Park, six buildings of Malta Office Park, Nobilis Business House, three buildings of O3 Business Campus, two buildings of Symetris Business Park in Łódź, Tryton Business House in Gdańsk, West Gate and Aquarius Business House in Wrocław, Q22 and two buildings of Park Rozwoju in Warsaw, Oxygen in Szczecin (2 BREEAM In-Use certificates: Building Management and Asset Rating) as well as commercial investments – Galeria Amber in Kalisz, CHR Galaxy in Szczecin, Galeria Olimpia in Bełchatów and Galeria Echo in Kielce.
Alchemia is a multifunctional business complex, which is being realized in Gdańsk. The first stage of the investment – as the first in Tricity and one of the first in the country – was awarded LEED at the highest Platinum level. It is confirmation that global standards of energy-saving and sustainable construction were met by the building. The pro-ecological aspect of the investment is, for instance, water consumption at the level of 47.30 per cent, which is provided by the hydro-saving sanitary devices. The water which hydrates the building is taken from the retention reservoir, which keeps the rain water. Additional pro-ecological aspect is reduction of waste by 58.70 per cent. The low energy consumption is at the level of over 25 per cent, which is possible thanks to the application of efficient lighting of interiors as well as outside the building, which is consistent with the requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 norm.
The ecological solutions applied in the Alchemia complex were honored with the award of PLGBC Green Building Award 2015. The idea of such a distinction is promotion of solutions for ecological construction. Alchemia won in two categories: the first stage of the investment was titled the best green certified building, whereas the second stage was considered as the best ecological project.
