The habit of an afternoon nap is related with i.a reduction of mortality from diabetes by 37% (Naska et al., 2007).

No wonder that more and more companies, also in Poland, are currently introducing naps as a new element of the work-life balance program. The researchers from Harvard estimate that sleepy employees bring losses to American companies at the amount of 63.2 million dollars annually. What’s more, when employees’ energetic resources aren’t managed well, productivity drops drastically – nearly by 520 man-hours.

Can catnaps bring some benefits to employers too?

From the company’s point of view, a 20 minute long nap improves productivity in using working time as well as the level of engagement. It's already been discovered by such companies like Google, Nike, Apple, Zappos or Cisco. They were the first enterprises that allowed their employees to take naps during breaks at work.

Who should mostly take a catnap?
